Donation Acquisitions

  • TED University Ayse Ilıcak Library can accept donations of library books and non-book library materials that conform to the purposes and principals of the library from private and legal persons.
  • Before bringing the donated publications, the list that contains the publishing information (Title, Author, Publisher, Publication Year, etc.) should be forwarded to the library.
  • Publications to be donated should have the appropriate characteristics; be up to date regarding scientific properties, convenient for university education or socially and culturally supportive to the researchers.
  • Publications that are physically damaged, stamped, drawn, that have missing pages or written notes; elementary, high school textbooks, hand-outs, lecture notes, copied or pirated publications, etc. cannot be accepted as donations.
  • All the rights concerning to placing the publications in the shelves or sending the double copies to another library as a donation and exchange are reserved to TED University Ayse Ilıcak Library.
  • Periodicals can be accepted as a donation as long as the beginning or the continuation of the collection is present in the library.
  • Magazines, encyclopaedias and other multivolume works can be accepted as donation as long as they maintain the integrity of the series.
  • Materials are added the library collection after being subject to stock number assignment and other procurement processes.
  • In accordance with the principles of modern library management, donation owners are informed that private collections or shelves that can damage integrity of the collection could never be accorded.
  • TED University Ayse Ilıcak Library has the right to return the materials accepted as donations, donate them to another library or return for recycling.
  • Donation owners are not entitled to any rights on donated materials afterwards.

 

Inter Library Loan Policy     

  • Libraries, which are the member of ANKOS make their loan requests by using KITS (Interlibrary Cooperation Trailing System). Libraries, which are not member of ANKOS make interlibrary loan requests by reciprocal protocols.
  •  The faculty members and students can make a loan request from the libraries, which signed reciprocal protocols, only by presenting their academic or student ID card.
  • Before making a loan request, the user should check the status and availability of the book(s) s/he wants to borrow by using the Library Catalogue
  •  The faculty members and graduate students of universities and research institutes can borrow from other libraries up to 7 books for 30 days and undergraduate students can borrow up to 3 books for 15 days. Any institution can borrow 15 books at most from any other library.
  •  The faculty members are responsible for the books that they borrowed but it is the universities, which are responsible for the books that the graduate students borrowed.
  •  It is possible to make loan extensions twice unless another user makes a request for the book(s). However it is not possible reserve a book.
  •  It is not possible to make a loan request for CD-ROM or software, reference sources, audio-visual sources (film, cassettes, video, CD, DVD), special collections and periodicals.
  •  If there are some delayed or undelivered books in the account of the library, which would make a loan request, the request will not be processed until the books will be delivered and the penalty for delay will be paid.
  •  The daily penalty for undelivered/delayed books is 0.50 TL a day. This penalty should be paid to Denizbank Cebeci Branch – IBAN TR27 0013 4000 0055 7473 0000 31 and the receipt should be sent to the TED University Ayse Ilıcak Library by e-mail
  •  It is the library, which made the loan request is responsible for any damages to the books, delays, losses or any other casualties. TED University Ayse Ilıcak Library cannot be held responsible for these casualties.
  •  The library, which would like to make a loan request from TEDU Ayse Ilıcak Library accepts the current terms and conditions about book lending. The libraries’ loan requests will not be processed and borrowing books will be suspended if the books borrowed will be delayed ten days after the deadline twice.
  •  The books that are borrowed are sent to the library, which made the loan request by cargo shipment and should be returned by cargo shipment again. The expenses of cargo shipments should be paid by the library, which made the loan request.
